The full garden design and build service from Medlar & Cob comprises the following stages.  We are able to take care of everything for you from taking your initial brief to professional delivery of a timeless, bespoke garden for you to enjoy.

One

We are happy to provide a free initial consultation where we can take a look at the site and listen to exactly what you want.  You can take us through your ideas, how you want to use your garden, what you like and what you don’t.  We can make a few suggestions and explain to you why and how we believe that we can design you the most beautiful, functional garden.  This initial consultation should normally take one to two hours.

Two

Once we have agreed that you would like Medlar & Cob to design your garden, we would visit you again to take a formal brief, conduct a thorough site analysis and arrange a survey.

Three

We will draw up a master plan to scale of your newly designed garden based upon our site analysis and your brief to us.  This will contain the position of all the elements of your new garden and an indication of the materials to be used. It may look something like the one below.  In addition, we often make use of hand drawn sketches, mood boards and 3d CAD imagery to bring your garden to life before it starts to be built.

Four

At this stage you have a number of choices.  You may engage your own landscape contractor to build and plant the garden.  Alternatively, we can recommend landscape contractors to you.  As another alternative, we can put together all specifications and construction drawings and put the build out to tender on your behalf.  We can then monitor that build for you.  With this approach, you have the comfort of knowing that you have one point of contact throughout the whole process to ensure the best of finishes, within timescale and on budget.

Five

Either within stage 4, or as a separate stage, we can plant your garden, based upon planting plans we have prepared.  Our planting makes use of plants which you would find it difficult, if not impossible, to source at your local garden centre and at a fraction of the price.

Six

We particularly enjoy maintaining a close relationship with clients even after the garden has been built and planted.  It is always a joy to see how gardens grow and evolve.  We are happy to provide regular maintenance services and answer any queries you may have on your completed garden.
