Our medal winning garden at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2011. This contemporary garden design entitled ‘My Life if the Cloud’ was chosen from the multitude of applications the RHS receives every year for entry into the prestigious Conceptual Gardens category. Our aim was to create something both thought provoking and beautiful. The garden had to be true to its concept – to make people think about the amount of their personal information held online. We also wanted it to have beautiful planting. So we put a large perspex box containing the designer’s own personal information at the centre of the garden, shrouded it in mist and used planting inspired by the grasslands and limestone pavements of the Yorkshire Dales. The result – a contemporary garden design with soft, naturalised planting.
Project cost: £11,000 plus VAT Location: RHS Hampton Court Flower Show
And here is a short video which shows this contemporary garden design in more detail with our designer, Nigel Jones, explaining what it was all about.
